Brits supporting energy saving inventions

Energy saving supported in the UKA new study has found that consumers in the UK are keen on the advancement of new energy efficient technologies and inventions.Brits are interested in new technologies which can help to reduce their household bills, a new study has found.

Research commissioned by gas and electricity company npower found that 36 per cent of consumers would like to see new inventions which would help reduce the energy use of their home.

The study also found that 82 per cent of respondents think that power saving ideas should be given more support, showing the level of support which British consumers are giving to the notion of energy efficiency.

Environmental group Friends of the Earth has called for property owners to install home improvement such as double glazing and cavity wall insulation to help reduce the carbon emissions of their houses.

The organisation has also called on Gordon Brown to offer financial incentives to consumers who strive to make their homes more environmentally-friendly.
