Benefits of double glazing to be outlined at sustainable design event

Double glazing has many meritsThe benefits of installing double glazing are to be discussed by the Glass and Glazing Federation at a sustainable design event in London next month.The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is exhibiting alongside the British Fenestration Ratings Council, which will be promoting double glazing windows, at this year's Ecobuild - the world's biggest event for sustainable design.

Organisers of Ecobuild have asked the GGF to chair one of the event's seminars and Ian Chisholm, deputy chief executive, has taken up this challenge.

In his upcoming speech, entitled Shedding Light on Window Performance, he will examine the latest developments in window efficiency and performance, which will no doubt include the mention of double glazing windows.

Mr Chisholm said: "Because of the building regulation changes happening this year it is important that the consumer and industry alike are aware of the environmental benefits of replacing windows and understanding … what energy rated windows are."

The GGF will be exhibiting on stand 1,689 at Earls Court, London from March 2nd to 4th.

Double glazing windows not only make properties more energy efficient but make them more appealing to potential buyers or renters, interior designer Naoimh Tuohy recently wrote in the Evening Herald.
