Homeowners are choosing warmer-spectrum shades as economic uncertainty continues to loom, an expert has said.People looking for bedroom quotes are increasingly opting for warmer colours in their designs, an expert has revealed.Adrienne Chinn, design director at Adrienne Chinn Design, said that neutral colours are often chosen because people need a boost in their mood from their surroundings. She explained: "It always seems to be in times of recession that fashion in colour seems to become more vibrant because people seem to need the lift."Ms Chinn added that warmer hues, such as reddish pinks, oranges and warm yellows, work well in the cooler UK climate, where "our light tends to be quite grey light".Panatone, which provides professional colour standards for the design industries, has announced that its colour of 2011 is honeysuckle, a vibrant reddish pink.Executive director Leatrice Eiseman said that the colour is "captivating" and "stimulating".She added that in times of stress, colours such as honeysuckle are an effective way to get "the adrenaline going".Posted by Liam Cass
