Bedroom quotes: Buying a bed is like purchasing shoesA sleep expert has advised people looking for bedroom quotes to try out beds before they choose, to make sure the furniture meets your needs.It is as important to try out a bed as it is to sample shoes when you are considering a purchase, homeowners searching for bedroom quotes have been told.

Jessica Alexander, from The Sleep Council, said that it is important to understand why a new bed is needed, in order to identify the features of an item that will aid a good night's sleep.

She explained: "We would say to people have a think about what you are replacing – what you like or don't like about what you are replacing. Is what you've got too hard, too soft, too lumpy? Have you slept on a bed anywhere that you've really liked?"

Ms Alexander said that if couples are sharing a bed and need different types of mattresses, a "zip and link" option is available, where two different pads are put together to create a double bed.

Adrienne Chinn, design director at Adrienne Chinn Design, recently said that homeowners are likely to move towards "warmer" colours for their bedroom quotes in 2011, as a way of boosting their mood.
