Bathroom quotes: Homeowners Homeowners should be more ambitious with their bathroom quotes and other DIY projects, an expert has said.People looking for bathroom quotes generally "aren't ambitious enough" when they plan out DIY tasks, an industry expert has said.

However, Anne-Marie DeSouza from Build It magazine said that people should not over-reach when planning their home improvement projects, and should maintain a realistic view of what they can competently achieve.

The magazine's editor said: "Many homeowners aren't ambitious enough with DIY projects. That said, people should really only take on tasks that they feel comfortable with and feel competent enough to handle – problems tend to arise when complete beginners try to fit their own kitchen."

She added that people who choose to install their own bathroom quotes and undertake other large jobs should think about sharing the labour with a partner, in order to reduce the workload and increase personal safety throughout the task.

Ms DeSouza's comments come as Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank reported that Britons spent £235 million last year in fixing failed DIY work.
