A cheap conservatory 'adds value to homes'

Conservatories can add value to a property. Adding a conservatory to a property not only makes it a more pleasant place to live, but also ups the value, it has been claimed.Installing a cheap conservatory in a property can add a huge amount of value to it, as well as making it a more pleasant place to live, according to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The comments come as the organisation joins forces with homeless charity Shelter to launch Architect in the House, a scheme which matches homeowners with an architect in exchange for a £40 donation to the charity.

It is believed that through the scheme, people will be inspired to take the plunge and make a major improvement to their homes, such as getting a cheap conservatory quote.

Research by the two organisations has found that energy efficiency measures, such as cheap double glazing, are also a popular choice for those making the most of their properties.

Shelter recently welcomed the Mortgage Repossessions (Protection of Tenants) Act, which will aid tenants facing eviction when their landlord's property is repossessed.
